Intergenerational Work

Since 2009 the Citadel has delivered quality intergenerational work to local young and older people.

New Spin Intergenerational Café

The New Spin Intergenerational Café is delivered in partnership with Pilmeny Development Project and has been running since 2009.

New Spin provides opportunities for young people aged 10 – 18 and older adults 50+

Every Friday young and older people from the local community meet at the Citadel to try out an exciting range of activities including: arts and crafts, quizzes, pool, board games, table tennis, cooking and indoor curling to name a few.

Old’s Cool Intergenerational Project

The Citadel Youth Centre’s – Old’s Cool Intergenerational Project funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, was launched in 2015.  Old’s Cool supports young people (S1-S4) at risk of disengaging from school to facilitate activities with older people and deliver them in a medium of their choice.
