The Families Project is funded by the Big Lottery and City of Edinburgh Council to provide extra support for children aged 5 to 12 in Leith and their families. Children are referred to the project by local schools, social workers and other agencies, but families can also refer themselves. The Families Project has a range of services for children, their parents/carers and the whole family:-
Junior Group – a small, after school group for younger children (5-7 years) who would benefit from a safe, supported introduction to the Citadel
Supported Places – extra support to help children settle in to one of our busy, open youth clubs, the Junior Club (7-9 years) or the Inter Club (10-12 years)
1:1 Support – weekly sessions with the Children’s Worker, at school or at the Citadel, for children who would benefit from more intensive support
Parents Drop In – a weekly space to meet other Citadel parents/carers and get practical help, information and advice on a range of topics
Family Support – weekly 1:1sessions with the Family Worker, at home or at the Citadel, for parents/carers who would like more intensive support
For The Whole Family
Family Days – a chance for children, parents/carers and other family members to come along and enjoy the Citadel together.
